"Holy Similar...

I didn't want all that hair on my bench." Those are the words that came out of Kendie's mouth as Teresa blew dry her hair the other night and it was falling out in clumps.

Teresa called Rachel in to play beautician. She handed her the scissors and Rachel cut Teresa's hair into a short do. Teresa and Rachel got a good laugh as Rachel gave her sideburns. Teresa was fully prepared to lose her hair and okay with it. No tears, just laughs and fully understanding that this is part of it.

Another light moment was yesterday. Teresa was wearing her wig and Becky, Woo-Hoo, Shelby and Riley (Rob's mom, grandma, sister and her daughter) came to visit. Kendie pulled off Teresa's wig and told all to look at her mom's hair. They all got a laugh out of that.

T. said Rob shaped it up last night with the clippers. Kendie came home this morning from Covington and couldn't stop laughing at her mom's hair. She kept telling her she looked funny. Nothing but laughter when Kendie is around.

So as of April 9, 2009 T. has officially lost her hair. Her wig is so cute and without a wig, she looks cute. It is the least of her concerns though.

The Ramey's have had a rough week. They have had to attend two funerals of two young family members. One of Rob's cousins and one of Teresa's cousins. Please keep those families in your prayers. Other than that, T. is feeling good.

She is one of the best if not the best mom's I know when it comes to making holidays fun. She is good at decorating and makes even dying eggs special for her girls. She was off to Walmart to do some Easter shopping when I talked to her today.

I have to remind myself that she is still very sick because she seems so good. She looks great, she acts fine. She never complains. The only thing I ever hear her say is that she's a little tired. What mom doesn't feel tired at the end of the day? Especially a mom of an active 3 year old (almost 4:)

On Monday at 2pm, she will have her second round of this new chemo. Please continue to pray for her and the rest of the family as they gear up for another round. We need to pray that the chemo is working. It will be a couple of weeks after this chemo that the doctor will do the marker test to see if it is working. Pray, pray, pray!

Have a blessed Easter!

T. had a good weekend

I got this email from Teresa tonight:

Weekend went well! I just got tired in the evening. I especially enjoyed watching Rachel play 3 games of basketball and both girls in the swimming pool on Saturday. I got an opportunity to rest up today because Kendal took a 2 hour nap. I feel pretty good given the circumstances. Just please continue to pray for the chemo to work! I will have a blood test for the CA 27-29 in approximately three weeks. Dr. Gupta wants my body to react to the next treatment before he does the test.

In addition, please pray for the families of our two cousins that we lost this last weekend. Nathan Allen, age 21, was found dead on Thursday in his apartment. Chad Simmons, age 26, was killed in a car wreck on Saturday in Parke County. These two were way too young to die.
